Alpha is a series of group conversations that freely explore the basics of the Christian faith in an open, friendly environment. Everyone’s welcome. No matter your background or beliefs, you’re invited!

Our current Alpha course has nearly finished. However, YCC run an Alpha course once or twice per year, so keep an eye out here and on our social media to find out when the next one will be. The course is also available from other churches in York and across the country. To find out if there is a course elsewhere, use the link at the bottom of this page.

What Happens on an Alpha Course?

The format of each evening session will be:
MEAL – We’ll start at 7pm by enjoying a delicious 2 course meal together as one group.
FILM – After the meal, we’ll split off into 2 rooms. In each room we’ll show a 20-30 minute alpha film: one in English and one in Cantonese.
DISCUSSION – In our groups we’ll have a conversation about what we’ve watched. You can share your thoughts and ideas on the session’s topic. You can say anything you like, or nothing at all. We’ll finish by 9pm.
