CAP & Food Bank
Christians Against Poverty
YCC have supported and partnered with Christians Against Poverty (CAP) for more than a decade. CAP is a national debt counselling charity with a network of debt centres based in local churches. CAP offers hope and a solution to people in debt through its top quality, in-depth service.
Although we no longer run a Debt Centre, we still support their work, and will continue to help people in financial hardship to receive the support they need from CAP. They offer debt counselling in our community and their services they offer are completely free.
Call 0800 328 0006 to book an appointment with a CAP Debt Centre.

HOPE
Food Bank
We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
In York there are a number of Foodbank locations supported by local churches. York Community Church hosts a Foodbank every Friday morning from 10.30am-12.30pm at Cornerstone (previously St George’s Methodist Church), Millfield Lane, York YO10 3AP.
For details about the Foodbank and how you can be helped to access this support visit the York Foodbank website: https://york.foodbank.org.uk.
