Frequently Asked Questions
What is Love Tang Hall
‘Love Tang Hall’ is a week long project ‘mobilising students’ to ‘love the locals’. It is a week of teaching, training and community outreach to share God’s love with Tang Hall in practical ways.
Through ‘Love Tang Hall’ we want to see God transforming hearts, lives and the community. We love to bless people in practical ways, to speak truth and hope into people’s lives, and to ask God to work in the hearts of every individual in this area.
‘Love Tang Hall’ will build on and support our regular activities throughout the year, as well as exploring new opportunities including garden projects, community service, street evangelism, prayer, activities in Hull Road Park and fun days.
When is it?
Love Tang Hall runs from 2nd – 8th June 2025. We envisage that students will be commissioned in their own church on Sunday 1st June before gathering on Monday 2nd June to start the week all together. It will finish on Sunday 8th June with a celebration of the week.
Although each day will vary, a typical day will look like this:
10am – 11.30am Worship, Training & Teaching
11:30am – 12:30pm Activation (based on the morning)
12.30pm – 1.15pm Lunch
1.15pm – 5pm Team Serving Activities
5pm – 6pm Downtime
6pm – 7pm Dinner
7pm – 8pm Potential Evening Outreach
8pm – 10pm Student Entertainment
How much does it cost?
We don’t want money to be a barrier and therefore ‘Love Tang Hall’ is being subsidised by York Community Church.
It will only cost £20 per person at the early bird rate if you book by April 15th.
After that it will cost £30.
This money will go towards the cost of your T-shirt, lunch and dinner each day, training and the running costs of this project.
Why should I take part?
Getting involved with ‘Love Tang Hall’ is a great opportunity to show God’s love to people in the Tang Hall area of York, through practical service, evangelism, fun, community events, prayer and worship. But it is also an opportunity for us all to be equipped in our call to mission as disciples of Jesus, by stepping out of our comfort zone, trying out a wide range of activities, and receiving teaching and training.
We believe that we will see God work in really exciting and encouraging ways in the lives of people we meet during the week, but also that it will cause real growth in our faith and our hearts for mission and service, leading us all to discover and grow in new gifts, passions and callings.
