Small groups

Small Group

An essential part of being part of YCC is life in a small group. These key small groups serve as a place of discipleship, pastoral care and outreach.

Lunch club

A fortnightly meal served at 12 noon in Tang Hall Community Centre for anyone. This much subsidised meal is prepared with much love; and the regular attendees appreciate not only the great food but the company.

Prison visiting

It is such a blessing to be involved in this ‘frontline’ work to help and support those who are going through such a troubled time in their lives.

School of Ministry

The School of Ministry has taken a number of shapes. At times, a monthly evening meeting for specific equipping: leadership development, prayer ministry skills, handling Scripture. It’s also provided an in house Level 3 Open College Network Centre course, Active Christian Training (ACT) consisting of three 10 week modules.

YCC is committed to effective discipleship – to equip and release. To this end we continually assess and develop the resources we have available to best meet the needs we face in ministry and mission.

Kingdom Academy

The Kingdom Academy (has its own website) is a Christian discipleship opportunity aimed at those aged 18+ who are staying in York and/or exploring a Gap Year.

The course is:
  • Jesus-centred – looking unto Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. HEBREWS 12:2a
  • Kingdom focused – seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness,…MATTHEW 6:33
  • Spirit filled – the Spirit of God… gives us power, love and self-discipline. 2TIMOTHY 1:7

The Kingdom Academy consists of six modules over two terms. All the teaching  is biblically grounded combined with practical application.

In addition, the course also offers practical ministry opportunities in: discipleship, worship, healing, leadership development and mission.
